13 Things to Never Say to a Young Mom

Here is my little list of some of the not so nice things that were said to me since I was pregnant with Chloe (my first, at age 14) to now. This is more along the lines of a rant I suppose, hopefully will give you a little laugh :P

1. "Was it Planned?"
What do you think haha No, but that doesn't mean it was a mistake. It wasn't my plan but it is God's plan.

2. "Babies raising babies"
I don't really know what to say about this one, I am pretty sure that every single teen parent has had someone say this two them or heard someone say this...

3. "Do you even know who the father is?"
Thanks for implying I am a whore is all I ever have to say to that one. I have also been asked if the kids have the same father, they ask like its their business.

4. "Maybe you should learn how to use condoms."
This one just makes me laugh. This person was too much of a coward to say it to my face too, had to message me on Facebook.

5. "Your future has gone to shit."
Said to me when I found out that I was expecting, don't let having a baby stand in the way of the future you want for yourself. You may have to change the path a little bit but that doesn't mean you won't get there!

6. "You are throwing away your teenage years, don't you want to be able to party?"
I have never been into partying, yes I have had a drink before (sorry mom) but I never party. I'm not a fan of crowds, plus I'm a home body. So I never had much interest in partying, I'm not throwing anything away. I know now better then I ever have what I want to do with my future, I wouldn't have this knowledge if I wasn't a mother.

7. "How will your child feel when they find out they are a mistake?"
No one better ever tell them that, I sure won't be. My kids are not a mistake, they were an unexpected surprise.

8. "You are going to wish that you had an abortion."
Absolutely not! I love my kids, they are a blessing. I will never wish that I had an abortion, I am Pro-choice for everyone else but personally I don't think I would ever have one.

9. "You look so young!"
Well I am, get over it haha. I am a damn good mom, I know lots of young moms that are great moms. Age doesn't define the mother you will be, this is a major stereotype that needs to stop!

10. "Give your baby up for adoption if you want him/her to have a good life."
My parents help me out all that they are able to just so I can get an education to be able to make a goo life for my family, I am fortunate to have a supportive family. Not everyone does. My kids are loved and taken care of, as far as I'm concerned then will have a great life and I will do everything in my power to make that happen!

11. "I bet your parents to all the work."
Not at all, I do live at home still and while I am at for a couple hours and at school for an hour my mom watches the kids but other then that it 100% my responsibility and I wouldn't have it any other way. Don't get me wrong they help me out lots but I take care of my kids, my mom just watches them while I do one class at school and work a couple hours and I am grateful for that.

12. "You are basically just the babysitter."
I was pissed for weeks after this one, especially because it was said by someone close to me. I got over it but when it was said I was not happy!

13. "You don't look old enough to be a mother!"
Age doesn't define how good a mother you will be so I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter it you think I look old enough or not.

Comment below if you have heard these too, or any of the rude, outrageous things that were said to you being a young mother. Hope you enjoyed my list, I enjoyed ranting a little bit. I needed it after the week I have been having, but more on that soon!
