New Hobby!

Image
Sort of..okay so for a long long time I have loved taking pictures. I have always enjoyed taking pictures for people but all I had was a fancy looking point and shoot camera that was technically not mine, it's my dad's. Getting professional pictures done by someone usually costs so much money, which really I can't afford. I decided I wanted to be able to take my own nice pictures, most importantly of my kids but possibly even other people to.  I got myself some continuous lighting in hopes that it would significantly improve the picture quality by the point and shoot, unfortunately my iPhone could still take a much better picture. So I went a head and started searching for a reasonably priced DSLR camera. It took a little while to find the right one for me but when I did, I wasted no time making it mine! Since I have had the camera I have taken lots of pictures of my kids and lots of landscape photos as well. On top of that I have done two photo shoots for friends of mine a...

My Facebook Detox

Image
I have been wanting to do this for awhile now but there has always been friends that I only talk to through Facebook and family that I have that doesn't live very close. Last week was a really stressful week for me so I just said "you know what, know is the time to finally get rid of it". I only temporarily deactivated my profile and messenger, I think that I will keep it that way for at least a month in not longer. Before I did it I messaged a few friends and gave them my number and email in case they wanted to get ahold of me. As for family, my mom has Facebook so I can just share pictures of the kids with family that way.  It has only been a little over 24 hours since I've been Facebook free but I honestly feel a huge weight come off my shoulders. Facebook creates so much drama and I was just getting sick of it. Along with deleting Facebook I deleted bunch of contacts out of my phone and off of my snapchat. Mainly just my ex, a couple guys that bug me and anyone I ...

Logan's Upcoming Birthday

Image
Less then one month until my little man's first birthday! This year has gone by so quickly, it makes me so sad. I miss him being so little, but now that he is bigger he's able to play and say mama, which is super cute! I love watching Chloe and Logan play together, it's so interesting to see them communicating with each other.  If you couldn't tell by the picture above, the theme of his birthday party is Dinosaurs. I have been planning this for a few months now. All I have to do now is decided on what food I am going to have and how I am going to do his cake. I have already gotten his outfit and his present as well. So I'm basically all set.  Unlike Chloe's two birthday parties so far I have decided to have Logan's at my house instead of at my cottage. It will be nice not having to lug a bunch of stuff too and from now. Food is the worst too, I hate having to bring a ton of left overs home but I also hate to toss them.  There isn't going to be many littl...

Mother's Day Foot Art

Image
With Mother's Day coming up, a great gift for moms and grandmas is something homemade especially from little kids! I love doing footprint/handprint art so I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration for Mother's Day and this is what I found. Cupcake First I did this handprint cupcake with Chloe, the one I saw on Pinterest was pretty different but same idea. I used the smallest size of the Artists Loft flat canvas (from Michaels), the handprint turned out way better then I was expecting it to. After that I gave Chloe a rectangular piece of paper and some crayons to color it with. Once it was totally filled in I trimmed it to look like a cupcake tin, then I glued it on. The words were the same as on the one I used as inspiration, "For the Sweetest Grandma!" You could right whatever you like on it and for whoever not necessarily grandma.  Bumblebees For this one I used the second smallest Artists Loft flay canvas (from Michaels). The reason I did this was because I coul...
