Mother's Day Foot Art

With Mother's Day coming up, a great gift for moms and grandmas is something homemade especially from little kids! I love doing footprint/handprint art so I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration for Mother's Day and this is what I found.

Cupcake

First I did this handprint cupcake with Chloe, the one I saw on Pinterest was pretty different but same idea. I used the smallest size of the Artists Loft flat canvas (from Michaels), the handprint turned out way better then I was expecting it to. After that I gave Chloe a rectangular piece of paper and some crayons to color it with. Once it was totally filled in I trimmed it to look like a cupcake tin, then I glued it on. The words were the same as on the one I used as inspiration, "For the Sweetest Grandma!" You could right whatever you like on it and for whoever not necessarily grandma. 

Bumblebees

For this one I used the second smallest Artists Loft flay canvas (from Michaels). The reason I did this was because I couldn't fit both of there feet on the smaller sized one. This idea I had seen a while back on Pinterest and I had been waiting patiently to get to use it this Mother's Day! After I painted and stamped Chloe's footprint I wasn't sure if it was going to turn out or not because the paint was being weird but Logan's footprint turned out perfectly. I think I just didn't shake the paint enough to, after two tries I had to fill in Chloe's toes a bit myself but it still looks good. 

After it dried really good I used a black permanent marker to draw the eyes, antenna, stripes and wings on the bumble bees. Don't mind the wings, I did my best but they didn't turn out the greatest but oh well. The I wrote "Grandma's grand•babe•bees" at the bottom, which is quite similar to the Pinterest idea that I used as inspiration. I also added Chloe and Logan's names under their footprint and wrote the date on the back.
