Almost That Time Again

The other day I ran into Walmart to pick up a few things, the very first section you come to is all of the seasonal stuff. Just last week I was there looking at the pool floats, bubbles and other outdoor toys, but to my surprise it was all GONE! How could it be gone, didn't summer break just start?!

It is offical, Walmart, Staples and Michaels all have their back to school displays up and ready to go. I am not perpared for this, it is happening too fast. back to school clothes and supplies is too darn costly. Thankfully Lucas doesn't need any new clothes because all of Logan's that don't fit anymore now fit Lucas. Chloe and Logan both need some fall clothes but it is the indoor and outdoor shoes that they both need that will be expensive.

Chloe is going into 1st grade, just asks for $30 and they provide all the school supplies. The boys are only in daycare so they don't need school supplies either. I got off lucky didn't I? NOPE, I start college in the fall, I am going to need so much. At least I won't need any new clothes, I recently found some amazing finds at my local Thrift shop. I lucked into quite a few items that still had the tags. American Eagle, Banana Republic, Gap and Holister! What are the best places to shop online for children's clothing and school supplies?

Chloe is so excited to start 1st grade, she loves to learn and read. Logan is old enough to start pre-primary this fall but I decided to just keep him at daycare. While pre-primary is free, he gets so much more out of the daycare when it comes to helping with his delays.

We will all sure be busy, I am excited but a little anxious about being back in a classroom myself. Last time I did a full school year, all day five days a week was in 9th grade. College is so much different that grade school in so many ways, relationships with staff, respect for students, especially mature students. I hated high school because the VP, counselor and teachers thought of me as any other student and I wasn't. I would explain that I also had responsibilities as a parent and their response was "oh, well you mom can do that." or something along those lines. I have had so many negative school experiences that I formed this dislike of school and learning, but it was never the learning it has always been the teachers.

Teachers have so much power over an individual's education and future. Early childhood educators specifically, that time in a child's life when it comes to development is extremely important. I have taken on quite the interest in early childhood development and education, and for that reason I plan to take the first step towards my future career goals by becoming an early childhood educator (aka daycare teacher). I am so very excited for this journey I am about to begin! <3
