Halloween Checklist
So with Halloween being just 5 days away now, here's my little Halloween checklist! First off, •decide on a costume and have a back up plan if the weather is bad. Some of you may not have this problem but where I'm from the weather is usually not so nice on Halloween night. Most you either have a warm coat or a raincoat over your costume, so figure of it you can incorporate it into your costume some how if weather is going to be an issue or maybe make/buy your costume a little bit to fit over your warm clothes. Next thing to do after deciding on a costume is to •pick-up/make/order your costume. If you are ordering online I recommend sooner rather then later, that way if sizing is off or you changed your mind there is still plenty of time to return it and order again if you choose to. (I should have posted this at the beginning of the month rather then the almost end so that tip doesn't really apply to now but if you didn't do so for this Halloween you can always remember for next year!) If you are making your costume you also may want to start early to avoid scrambling at the last minute to get it ready.
•Get trick or treat bags, optional of course, by this I mean the bags your kids will use to collect candy in. When I was little I'm pretty sure I just used a pillow case or a grocery bag, except for one year that I had a cat bag that made cat noises when you pressed a button on the handle. I was going to have cute bags made for the kids this year but they are still too little for candy, especially Logan so I decided to hold off on that and I have cute little bags that you will see in a future post that they are going to use when we go see family. Just like for the costume if your planning on making or ordering online, the sooner the better.
Next is something that I say that I'm going to do every year but then I never do; •decorate inside and outside! I love Halloween and I always say that I'm going to go crazy with decorations but I never end up doing so. All I have up for decorations is some spider webs (made from Popsicle sticks glued together and painted black and white yarn) Halloween window stickers and pumpkins of course. Speaking of pumpkins, •carving pumpkins is the next thing on my checklist. Actually carving your pumpkins may be something you may want to wait until a week before Halloween to do so they don't rot or anything but if you are doing any no-carve pumpkin ideas maybe you might want to do them a little sooner so that they are around as decorations.
When you're at the store remember to •buy some Halloween candy or chips to give out on Halloween night and probably to snack on as well up until then. When you are picking up candy you might also want to •pick up tea lights for your pumpkins that you carved if you don't already have them. You could also used glow sticks or those candles with batteries.
Last on my list is •plan dinner for Halloween night, depending on the age of your kids you may be going to visit people in the car or going to a Halloween party or your kids don't want to waste anytime getting out trick or treating. So if that's the case for you plan something easy and quick and possibly eat a little early to give more time to get costumes on and ready to go. Also you might want to plan ahead if you plan on doing something Halloween themed for your kids, I plan to but I'm not sure what I'm going to choose yet.
Anyways I know this checklist is short and I'm sure there are lots more possible ideas! I had a hard time brain storming too many ideas for this one, so let me know if you have any other ideas that I could add!
Quite informative post on Halloween checklist. Recently, I arranged a Halloween themed dinner party with all my close ones at an amazing LA venue. Booked this venue through internet and got amazing discount as well.
