CustomDownloads by Crystal

Image
Recently i have had the pleasure of working with Crystal; owner of the etsy shop CustonDownloads. What a great experiences had working with her! I had something pictured in my head for a custom chalkboard in the beginning and Crystal went over and beyond my expectations. It is 10x better then I thought it would be. The whole process of giving her the details she needed and figuring out a design that fit was great, and I was very pleased that Crystal listened to the ideas that I had. She created a perfect design for what I was looking for. I will for sure be going back to her for any future needs that I have for chalkboard/invites/thank you note printables. Below is the chalkboard that Crystal created for me, I absolutely love it! I can't wait to get it printed and use it as a decoration at my son's first birthday party.  For Custom chalkboards, invitations, thank you notes, etc go check out Crystal's shop. I have a coupon code for her shop for 20% off your purchase it is BL...

Let's Talk About High School..

Image
I'm going to start my story from the very beginning of high school. I found out I was pregnant in February of 2013, I was 14 and in grade 9 so not yet in high school. I went to my prom in grade nine about 6 months pregnant. That whole summer I stressed about starting high school in the fall. I wasn't even sure at first if I was going to be allowed to go to high school for first semester. After being told I wasn't allowed, getting upset about it and my father speaking to the principal I was finally able to start high school!  The very first day of high school I was 9 months pregnant. Most of the kids I had gone to school with for years didn't know that I was pregnant or had heard rumours but weren't sure. So there I was, walking into a new school, a big ole belly on me..I was terrified. At the time I didn't know any other girl that had had a baby in high school or was pregnant so I was expecting stares. Fortunately it wasn't as bad as I thought, I only had tw...

Favorite Money Saving Apps

Image
Between paying rent/mortgage, for your children's needs, electricity and all the other bills you have to pay, it's probably quite a bit! a lot of families, especially young families don't have much left over after all their bills are paid. Budgeting can be really important when it comes to paying the bills and what's left over after that's all taken care of. Recently I have come across an app that may be able to help you out if your like me and need to see it all infront of you rather then in your head.  Money Lover For me I really need to see all my expenses and income in a chart or something. In junior high I learned how to budget in school, I find it easier to see it all in a chart/pie chart. This app you can enter in all your sources of income and and expenses and create your own budget for everything. I'm still new to this app so I haven't figured it all out yet but so far it's great.  Checkout 51 If you haven't tried this app out already seriou...

3 Simple Baby Food Recipes

Image
Red Pepper & Potato Purée  -half of a large red pepper -1 medium white potato  Start by washing and peeling the potato and cutting it into small chunks. Steam the potato chunks for 10 minutes at medium/high heat. Rinse the red pepper and and de-seed it. Cut half of the pepper into small chunks and add it in with the potato chunks and steam for another 5-7 minutes. When that it done, let it cool slightly and put the pepper and potato chunks into a blender to purée it, add water from the steamer if needed. The recipe that I used called for two peppers and one large pepper but I wasn't prepared for freezing food so I didn't want to make too much. Also I didn't realize that it called for two peppers not just one when until I got home. To steam the pepper and potato I used the steamer made by baby bullet, it worked great. You may have to adjust steaming time depending on what you are using. I tried it and I was surprised it wasn't bad at all, the only thing I would have ...

I'm sure there are lots that I am missing, I had a lot of trouble brainstorming great moments so I choose pretty basic one but they were great all the same!  1. Logan's Birth-June 8th One of two of the best days of my whole life! Chloe's birth was the other best day of my life! I'm not going to say to much about the birth because I still have yet to do a post about their birth stories!  2. I can't wait to start planning for her next birthday. 3. 3D Miracles-January 19th When I was 17 and a half weeks pregnant I went to the city for a 3D ultrasound.
