What's Left on my Christmas To-do List?


  • Wrap so many presents, I still have most of mine left to do. I also usually help my mom out with wrapping hers.
  • I still have my Christmas baking to do, but I don’t usually start until the week before Christmas. I only have a few things that I plan on making.
  • When it comes to the decorating, we are a bit behind this year! Our outdoor lights are still not up, and the tree is only a third decorated so far.
  • I don’t even want to think about all the tidying that I still have yet to do.
  • On a happier note, the kids and I still have a gingerbread house to decorate.
  • One of the tasks I have do to as soon as possible is Christmas cards, thankfully I don’t have to mail any. I don’t imagine they would be delivered on time with Christmas being so close and all the backlog with the mail after the Canada Post strike.
  • Lastly, at least as of now, is decide on a little gift for Chloe’s teacher and the kid’s daycare teachers.

I can’t decide if I am super behind or pretty well on track. Compared to last year I am well ahead for sure, however the year before that I was done all of this and then some like two weeks earlier. How are your Holiday preparations going? I am very much looking forward to Christmas, Logan is especially excited this year. Lucas doesn’t quite understand yet, but Chloe does and has for a few years now.

We are all counting down the days in this house, we could down to Christmas Eve though rather then Christmas Day. I am a far bigger fan of Christmas Eve because of the excitement, anticipation and company. Once Christmas Day comes gifts are opened, dinner is had and then it is all over. I find that there is much more magic on the eve for everyone, especially the children.

With only less then 2 weeks to go before Christmas, your scout elf may be just arriving or running out of new places to be and things to do. My scout elf arrived the beginning of December, above is a few pictures of where my family's scout elf; fruitcake has been so far. 1. What are 3 words to describe 2015? Eventful, Overwhelmeing and memorable 2. What word would you choose to represent your goals for 2016? This is a hard one, how about successful, there are a lot of important things that I want and need to accomplish this year for myself and my little family. I am confident that I will be able to succeed in achieving these goals.  3. How old will you turn in 2016? I will turn 18 in 2016. 4. If you could change any bad habit in 2016, what would it be? Probably procrastinate less, it is my worst habit. I put off school work and cleaning so much then I end up stressing and rushing it.  5. What changes would you like made in your home in 2016? Mother's Day Foot Art

With Mother's Day coming up, a great gift for moms and grandmas is something homemade especially from little kids! I love doing footprint/handprint art so I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration for Mother's Day and this is what I found. Cupcake First I did this handprint cupcake with Chloe, the one I saw on Pinterest was pretty different but same idea. I used the smallest size of the Artists Loft flat canvas (from Michaels), the handprint turned out way better then I was expecting it to. After that I gave Chloe a rectangular piece of paper and some crayons to color it with. Once it was totally filled in I trimmed it to look like a cupcake tin, then I glued it on. The words were the same as on the one I used as inspiration, "For the Sweetest Grandma!"
