Educational Affirmations Pt. 2

Your attitude determines your direction. You are capable of more than you know. The best view comes after the hardest climb. Work harder than you think you did yesterday. Your only limit is your mind. When you feel like quitting, think about why you started. Make it happen, Girl. Shock everyone. Old ways won’t open new doors. Remember that the reason you’re doing this is to make your life better. If you get tired, learn to rest not quit. I can and I will. Watch me. Be afraid and do it anyway. Work hard in silence. Let your success be your noise. Be proud of how hard you are trying. Take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come. Studying sucks less than failing. It’s time too work a little harder. Everything you do now is for your future, remember that.

15+ Must Have School Supplies

Image
Get Ready for Back to School Fortunately, my daughter’s school only asks for $35.00, then they pick up all the school supplies. The boys are still in daycare, so they don’t need to get school supplies yet besides indoor shoes and a water bottle. My plan is to be back in school full-time in the fall myself (I am still awaiting final confirmation), so I will have some school supplies to pick up this year. I have always loved shopping for school supplies, as expensive as it can get; especially in college. 1.Backpack 2.Three-Ring Binder 3.Loose Leaf  4.Subject Dividers 5.Page Protectors 6.Flash Drive 7.Pens 8.Pencils 9.Eraser 10.Colored Pencils 11.Pencil Sharpener 12.Ruler 13.Calculator 14.Highlighter 15.Pencil Case Here are a few more items that you or your child may need depending on age and grade .  16.Crayons 17.Notebook 18.Scissors 19.Glue Stick 20.White Out 21.Markers 22.Index Cards 23.Planner 19 More Sleeps Unti...

Birthday Self-Reflection

Image
I found these 21 great self reflection questions on www.delectableyou.com I though it would be quite fitting to answer these questions myself considering in a week and a half I will be turning 21! Make sure you check out the links back to Lauren’s self reflection. Alright, here we go: 21 questions to ask yourself before your next birthday Was I passionate about my career, my relationships, and my life in the last year? Not near enough. Did I nurture my passions this year? If yes – how? If not – why not? And what can I do differently this year? No, my first thought was ‘what passions?’ I have lost myself the last couple of years. I owe it too my self this year to not only focus on my children, but myself as well. What were my top 3 goals for last year and did I accomplish them? If not – why? Pass my classes, move out and get back into shape, 2 out of 3 accomplished. What are my top 3 goals for the coming year?  Self-care, license and honor roll. How much did I la...

Almost That Time Again

Image
The other day I ran into Walmart to pick up a few things, the very first section you come to is all of the seasonal stuff. Just last week I was there looking at the pool floats, bubbles and other outdoor toys, but to my surprise it was all GONE! How could it be gone, didn't summer break just start?! It is offical, Walmart, Staples and Michaels all have their back to school displays up and ready to go. I am not perpared for this, it is happening too fast. back to school clothes and supplies is too darn costly. Thankfully Lucas doesn't need any new clothes because all of Logan's that don't fit anymore now fit Lucas. Chloe and Logan both need some fall clothes but it is the indoor and outdoor shoes that they both need that will be expensive. Chloe is going into 1st grade, just asks for $30 and they provide all the school supplies. The boys are only in daycare so they don't need school supplies either. I got off lucky didn't I? NOPE, I start college in the fa...

Welcome July, Happy Canada Day!

Image
Usually we spend our Canada Day weekend at my family’s cottage, this year unfortunately we did not. Chloe spent the day with her father, and then spent the night with her Nonnie (her father’s mother). Lucas colored with me for a good part of the morning and then went to my mom’s house for supper and then spent the night with her. Logan is currently sick and has been all weekend, its just been me and him so that Chloe and Lucas don’t get sick. It was a rainy weekend where we live so we didn’t miss out on much besides the Canada Day parade, the fireworks were postponed due to clouds. Logan rested most of the day, I did tons of laundry and then had a super long nap in the afternoon. We’ve been working on organizing the entire house, starting with all of our laundry. Next is Chloe’s room, I have so many ideas for her room. The walls desperately need painted, I have already started on the closet doors.

30 Days of Blogging (Day 30!)

Why Did I Want To Do This Challenge I had been so behind with blogging for so long, and I really wanted to get back into the swing of things. To get me going and on a roll, I needed a bit of motivation, a schedule of simple posts to stick to. Mostly just to get be back into a habit of writing. It worked pretty well, there was a bit of a bump in the road when I started a new job and school started back up again. I don’t plan on that stopping me from doing what I love. Now that the habit is starting to come back to me, I am preparing to totally revamp my blog and post a whole lot more great content. (Also, I have a new blog in the works that I am getting ready to launch and I am so excited!)

30 Days of Blogging (Day 26)

What Is My Favorite Season and Why Fall and Spring are my two favorite seasons. Mostly because they are the in-between seasons, I’m not a big fan of extreme temperatures. I don’t like to be cold and I get overheated too easily. Fall and Spring are perfect! Kind of like Goldie Locks and the three bears, not too hot or cold, just right . If I had to pick just one, I would probably have to say Fall, I love thanksgiving and Halloween. Then again, Spring gives me nostalgia about being in high school, plus I love fishing!

30 Days of Blogging (Day 25)

How Do I Feel About Hospitals I have never really had an issue being in hospitals, I don’t like getting my blood drawn but only because I passed out once; so, now I get really nervous about it. Other then that I am pretty indifferent, it would never hold be back from going to the ER if needed or visiting someone in the hospital. After having three children, and Logan doing speech therapy at the hospital and my Grandfather being in the hospital for quite sometime a couple years ago, so I am pretty used to it at this point. One thing that I actually like about the hospital (I know, weird) is the smell, it makes me think about when I was in labor with my kiddos. It makes me miss the excitement and anticipation of being in labor.

30 Days of Blogging (Day 24)

Share Your Dream Date With Valentine’s day fast approaching what better time to share my idea of the best date I could dream up. This is a hard question for me to answer, mostly because I find my idea of the best date to be constantly changing. At this very moment my dream date night looks like a quiet night in with my Hunny. Maybe some wine, slow dancing, snacks and Netflix in bed. I am a homebody so a quiet night together, staying up until the wee hours of the morning talking about anything and everything sounds perfect to me.

End of Year Reflection

The New year is officially upon us. Before getting right to it I want to take a look back on the last year and my goals from the last couple of years. So much has happened the last few years and they have been challenging but also great, that’s for sure. I like to reflect on the previous year, it helps to figure out what things I need to change and what I need more of in my life. One of the biggest things that I accomplished in 2018 would be starting college in January. I started taking part time online classes through my local community college. I am working towards my Business Administration Diploma, this month I start my 4 th semester and by the end of May I will be officially half way through my program. This past year I also figured out what it is that I want to do for a career wise, and the 2019 is the year that I really make a big dent in working towards it. It’s exciting to know what I want to do and see a clearer picture of my future. I have always struggled with pr...
