What Santa Brought Us 2015

Image
First off! I am going to say is that this post is not meant to brag in any way whatsoever. Anyways I'm going to start with the he kids and then I'll tell you a couple things that I got.  In Chloe's letter to Santa she asked him for a kitchen and my little ponies, that is exactly what he brought her! She was super excited, he also brought her a toy dish set. From myself I got get her a doll and a blingy belt (it's super cute!) and some clothes. Her daddy got her a Sofia the first doll, a princess was another thing she said she wanted so she was pretty happy when she opened that as well! My parents got Chloe a few things, Chloe's favorite was probably a set of play food. My favorite thing that she received was from my father, it was a little necklace with her birthstone. -the kids opening a present from Santa, Logan is opening a tractor and Chloe is opening her ponies- Logan was a little to young to ask Santa for anything this year but Santa didn't forget him! Check out FutureSchool.com

Currently I am 17, so obviously i am still in high school and haven't graduated yet. This year would have been my senior year. Unfortunately it isn't and I'm considered still in grade 11 because I haven't gotten enough credits yet. A lot of young girls that get pregnant in high school don't usually graduate high school, or at least where I live that seems to be the case. I'm so thankful to my parents that they have been helpful enough that I am still able to attend school. I am not in high school full time though. At my high school there are three grades 10-12 and 2 semesters in a school year. 4 classes a semester so 8 in a year. Every day we have the same four classes in a different order ( we have an 8 day cycle, not sure why though because the first 4 are the same as the last 4). Right now I am taking one class in the school and three classes through correspondence. It's not to bad but I'm horrible for procrastinating and I hate having to mail in e...

Holiday Chaos

Image
First off-- Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a good one and is enjoying the holidays! I know I am, I've been super busy so it's been a few days since I posted last. Chloe and Logan had a great Christmas, Chloe was super excited and Logan seems to enjoy the lights and wrapping paper as well. I just love the holidays it brings all my family together, there's no place that I would rather be then surrounded by family. New Years is in a couple days and I'm looking forward to family coming over again, I'm more the type of person that would rather be at home then out partying or something. Plus, I'm not old enough to drink anyways ;p it's 19 in Canada where I live.  I am a bit disappointed that I didn't get the chance to do all the posts that I was hoping that were holiday themed, but there is always next year. I think my New Years resolution might just have to be get more organized! I have been really busy though, the day before Christmas Eve I re...

Christmas Foot Art!

Image
As you may have seen, for Halloween I also do a festive foot print for both of the kids. I believe Chloe's was Frankenstein and Logan's was a candy corn. I thought for Christmas I would continue with this and make a new tradition to do for every holiday. I have to say they are both adorable but I think the Christmas tree turned out a little bit better. I had a red Pom Pom for Rudolph's nose but I can't seem to find it so I just drew it on. I used the same little flat canvas board things as I did for th Halloween foot print art. I saw cute ideas for hand prints as well but I figured I would have a more difficult time trying to get the kids hands then I would their feet. I'm definitely going to also do this for Easter and maybe Valentine's Day as well! I think it's cute a cute keepsake, and the canvas boards are really cheap and come in a package of 5. There are so many sweet ideas, and arts and crafts are always fun. Chloe loves to do crafts with mama, I alwa...

Eve Box

Image
This is a tradition that I started Chloe's first Christmas, so two Christmases ago. I thought it was a cute idea, growing up I always got pyjamas Christmas Eve so I thought I would add to it and start the Eve box. I was pretty excited about it, this is the first tradition I started with my own little family. Chloe really liked opening it up last year on Christmas Eve before getting ready for bed, her first Christmas she was too young to know the difference. This year being Logan's first Christmas he too will be too young to care but he will like his Jammie's and stuffed reindeer I'm sure! Chloe may not be too thrilled about the whole Santa key idea, she is saying she doesn't like Santa and that she doesn't want him to come.. I imagine in the morning she will be glad to see that he will be stopping at out house Christmas Eve night.  The past two Christmases I have had fairly similar items included in my Eve box but there what I decided on for this year:  1. Jammi...

Beer Lover Gift

Image
This Christmas season I was really struggling to figure out what to get my father for Christmas, he's always really hard to come up with something for. I was looking through the flyers and found a set of all different beer tasting glasses. I got them at Canadian tire but I believe Walmart, winners and other places sell them as well. My dad is a big fan of beer so I thought that it would be something that he would enjoy. To go with it I wanted to get the beer that go in the glasses. I'm not 19 so I obviously couldn't do this part myself, I got one of my brothers to pick up the beer that I had decided on to go in the glasses. My other brother wanted to go in on this gift as well so also to go with it we picked up some treats like peanuts, cashews, and chocolates.  -picture of the beers labeled and in the box- Tulip Glass- Shock Top Belgian White  Porter/Stout Glass- London Porter & Martello Stout Pilsners- Propeller Pilsners Wheat Beer Glass- Erdinger  Weißbier Both Pro...

Elf on the Shelf Ideas!

Image
With only less then 2 weeks to go before Christmas, your scout elf may be just arriving or running out of new places to be and things to do. My scout elf arrived the beginning of December, above is a few pictures of where my family's scout elf; fruitcake has been so far. My personal favorites were fruit pcske fishing in the sink, hanging on the advent calendar and coloring on his little color pages. I  hope that some of my ideas are able to help you out in this last week and a bit days before Christmas. I know my elf is slacking on placement every morning now that everything is starting to get busier at my house! Hopefully he can keep it up until Christmas Eve! With not much time left before Christmas I still have so much left to do, I thought I was doing good stay on track but apparently not. Yesterday I was making a list of all the things I have left to do and there's a lot! I only have a couple gifts left to pick up, and everything that I have already is wrapped. I have all ...

2nd Breastfeeding Milestone

Image
I can't believe I actually made it to 6 months of breast feeding! I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old! Time has flown that's for sure. I'm actually surprised that I'm still breastfeeding where I considered myself having a really low supply so I figured that I would have dried up by now. Fortunately it is the total opposite, I think my milk supply is a lot greater compared to what it was I few months ago. I believe the reason being that Logan can go a lot longer inbetween feelings plus he has baby food now.  Before Logan was born I kind of thought that I would start to stop breastfeeding around 6 month but at the moment I don't really see an end in the near future. I know I don't really want to go much past a year if I make it that far but I'm just going to see how it goes until then. Some days I think about stopping, especially the other day when I got bit for the first time! But I'm really not looking forward to breastfeeding coming to a...

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Image
Yesterday morning I went to get my wisdom teeth out. I was beyond nervous, I had never had any kind of surgery before or ever been sedated so I had no idea what it would be like. I was on the verge of tears and shaking the whole drive there and in the waiting room. Once I was called in I relaxed a little bit. The nurse explained what to expect and all of that to me while she got my IV ready. I'm not afraid of needles what so ever but I usually pass out when I get blood work so I mostly wasn't looking forward to that part of it. The nurse got it into my right arm, I didn't even feel it go in but she burst the vein so she had to try again on my left arm, it hurt that time but she got it in good. She told me that once she turned on the stuff to sedate me I would start to not care about anything and then I would kinda be in and out and when it's over and starts to wear off I wouldn't remember anything.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me, I remember the nurse...

Winter To-Do List

Image
The Although it is not yet officially winter, where I live we just got snow last night. Not a lot but we got snow, now it feels like it's winter! I'm not a big fan of winter, I love how pretty the snow looks but I don't like the cold very much. I don't own a pair of snow boots or pants of a heavy coat because I'm the winter when it's super chilly I just stay indoors and only go out when I absolutely have to!  -not much, I know. Especially for where I live but I'm sure there will be more soon!- I came up with a list of things to do in the winter for fun with a little help from Pinterest. I didn't want to post this until either I got some snow or it was officially winter season. -Make christmas cookies -Donate old toys -Make/decorate a gingerbread house -Drink hot chocolate  -Go Caroling  -Sledding! -Donate food to the food bank -Make apple cider -Wrap presents -Send Christmas cards -Play in the snow -Do Christmas crafts -Christmas photo shoot -Make pepper...

#scoutelfreturnweek

Image
Welcome to our little family, Fruitcake! This year is our first year with an elf on the shelf, I'm so excited! Probably more excited then Chloe is I'm sure. Our elf arrived on November 28th (because I just couldn't wait any longer haha). This is where we've found him so far- - on the right was the first day, bottom left was the second day and top left was the third day- I wasn't sure if our elf would arrive early or wait until like a couple weeks before Christmas, but I ended up deciding for early. I think from now on our scout elf will arrive on the last day of November every year. I have so many cute ideas for these few weeks before Christmas, it's hard to believe that there aren't too many more days before Christmas!  So far Chloe has been pretty excited to find fruitcake in the mornings but she doesn't remember when she wakes up, I remind her to find him. She is still a little too young to remember when she wakes up and I'm sure she doesn't g...

Baby, It's Cold Outside

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...Not! I'm so ready for it to feel like Christmas time and look like winter out. Where I live we have had snow twice so far, it wasn't much and it didn't last long. Even the weather has been pretty nice also it's only just starting to get cold out, usually it starts to get cold in October.  Now don't get me wrong, as soon as winter arrives I wish it never had, but it sure does look pretty outside when there is snow and lights and all that good stuff. My Christmas lights aren't up yet unfortunately, it's been super rainy and windy recently and that's definitely not fun weather to be outsidestapling up lights..not that it's fun any other time either, haha. I have gotten some decorating done inside the house but not much so far, I still need to dig it all out of our storage room.  The only thing I'm really on top of this year is getting gifts and wrapping them, for the most part I'm actually almost...

Sweater Weather Tag

Image
I got the idea to do this tag when I saw it on a YouTube channel that I like to watch, the channel is- barbiesbeauty  http://youtu.be/aIT8aCLwa6g 1. Favorite candle scent? I don't often burn candles but I have a fall one that I really like, it is Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmellow from Bath & Body Works. I was surprised that I like it because I'm usually not a huge fan of the pumpkin scent. 2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? I don't drink coffee and I'm not usually a big tea drinker so I'll have to say hot chocolate. 3. Best fall memory? Chloe was born in the fall, so that is my best fall memory. 4. Which make-up trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eye liner? I don't do either, I don't wear much make up. I guess winged eye liner though if I had to pick one. 5. Best fragrance for fall? I'd probably have to say anything with Apple scent. 6. Favorite Thanksgiving food?  I probably have to say stuffing, I like all thanksgiving foods but stuffing is probably ...

Logan's First Food

Image
The other day I gave Logan his first food! As you can see from the picture at the bottom...he loved it! So far he has tried carrots, peas and oat cereal. The cereal stuff was his very first, he was sure what to think of it but I don't think I watered it down enough. Then he tried carrots, we had that for a few nights and then we tried peas two nights ago. So I guess he had his first food more like a week ago not the other day haha. In the picture he had just tried carrots for the first time. I didn't make these myself I just bought the organic baby food in bottles and the oats cereal. I bought Hienz brand for the organic baby food (peas and carrots) and Gerber was the brand of oat cereal. -who else uses this brand? I'm curious what's others there are, my store only has three different one. I can't imagine that's all they make for organic-  My grocery store where I live doesn't carry much organic baby food, just peas carrots and squash so I will be making mos...

Honest Company Review (Diapers & Wipes)

Image
Diapers- First off, who doesn't love all those adorable prints! I choose flowers for Chloe and giraffes for Logan. Diapers were the first honest company product that I ever used. I was to excited to get them in the mail! The box that the products are mailed to you in is so pretty as well! Chloe tried them first (Logan wasn't born yet when I ordered them). At first I thought they seemed like they wouldn't hold much but I was so surprised. Chloe didn't leak through at all, even over night! The brand we had been using at the time would leak through almost every night then I would have to clean her sheets and whatnot way more then necessary.  Logan had just as good results when he wore them, I liked how they fit bot Chloe and Logan. And stayed on good with Chloe moving around and on the go. I have nothing bad to say about the diapers at all. I do recommend you check the sizing though on the website when you order because when I ordered I ordered a size bigger than Chloe was...

Starting Solids

Logan is now a little over 5 months old, so I have been thinking about when to start him on baby food. I remembered reading like a checklist of thing you baby is doing which might mean they are ready for solids when Chloe was a baby. So I googled it to see if I could find it. A checked a few websites, most of them said the same thing, here's what I found: • can sit up with support • can hold head up straight when sitting •  is a ble to turn head toward or away from food • seems to be interested in food when others are eating • opens mouth when offered a spoon • seems as though baby eats a lot more often/not satisfied with just liquids • tries to grab at utensils when someone else is eating  These seven things were just the main ones that I found on multiple websites that I checked out, these are mostly all true with Logan so I decided that I am going to try to start solids with him and see if he is interested. Chloe was about 5 and a half months of when she...

Update!

Image
So I haven't posted anything in over a week, I been really busy with school and with the kids and just haven't gotten a second to sit down and type yet. This post is just going to be a little update on that's going on with me lately.  I can't believe it's almost already the middle of November! I'm so ready to start decorating for Christmas, just have to wait until after Remembrance Day which is tomorrow. The tree of course won't go up quite yet but I'm going dig out some decorations to put up, and I'll probably put the outside lights up on the weekend before it starts to get super cold out. I have lots of cut little ideas for Christmas that I can't wait to share but I'm going to hold off until the last week of November.  Another post that you can look forward to will be about Chloe's play corner, I'm going to turn a corner of our family room in to a little play corner for her to play with all her toys. I'm hoping that was her room...

2nd Q&A (IG and Ask)

1. Did you mean to get pregnant? (@jklundy93) No, not at all. Both of my babies were a complete surprise! 2. In your opinion which is better, C-section or Natural? (@me_enchanta15) By natural I assume you me vaginal delivery. I had a vaginal delivery with both my babies so I don't personally have a preference. I think it all depends on the person, everyone is different. 3. Do you add guys on your private Instagram account? Not really, I have a few on there but they are either dads or people that I know personally. 4. Do you have a Kik? Yes I do, my username is maddie_swimmer 5. Do you want anymore kids?  I definitely want more in the future, I'm not sure how many I'd like someday though. I don't want anymore for awhile though. 6. How did you get pregnant? I'll just explain with Logan so this isn't super long. I was on the birth control pill when I got pregnant with Logan, obviously I must have missed one or it just plain didn't work because I have Logan now ...

Welcome November

Image
Happy November! It's November 1st, which means only 11 day until I can start doing Christmas things. I'm so ready to start now but of course I'm going to wait until after Remembrance Day. Last Christmas there was a lot going on in my family so we were kind of behind in the baking and decorating..and everything for that matter. So this year I really want to get things done a little sooner, that way I can relax and enjoy the holidays instead of everyone rushing last minute like we usually do.  It's around 10:00 pm right now and the clocks were put back an hour last night. So writing this right now I'm barely awake, it feels like it's 2 in the morning! I can barely keep my eyes open. I had a long day, which didn't help. I worked in the morning for a few hours, then when I got home I made chips and pumpkin pie tarts for my family's late thanksgiving. (I live in Canada) so out thanksgiving is in October instead of November like the United States. It just so h...

A-Haunting We Will Go!

Image
First off, Happy Halloween! I can't believe that it's the end of October all ready, I've been so excited all month for today! I hope everyone has fun dressing up, and trick or treating! I know Chloe is definitely excited for getting candy, she loves her costume. I've got just a couple of tips and things to remember for Halloween tonight, here it is- Remember to light your jack-o-lanterns once it gets dark and turn your outside lights on. Also remember to get whatever you are handing out to the trick or treaters ready and close to the door. Don't forget to take a picture of your kids or pets or friends all dressed up in your costumes! Before you leave to go trick or treating put glow sticks or something that is bright and lights up on so you can be easily seen. Be careful crossing the street and watch for cars. I also recommend taking a grocery bag with you so that your kids can lighten their load of candy if it starts to get heavy for the, especially little ones. La...

Fang-tastic Halloween Surprise!

Image
One more day until Halloween! Are you as excited as I am!? Today I picked up Logan a super cute costume and I can't wait for him to wear it. I also got myself part of a costume for school tomorrow, I'm going to be a flapper. I think Chloe is excited to dress up but I don't think she really understands Halloween other wise but I'm sure she will enjoy it! Since Halloween things started to make their appearance in stores this year I started picking up a couple things for both Chloe and Logan for a Halloween gift. This is something my mom always did for me when I was little, nothing crazy just a couple little things and a card. So anyways I decided to do this up for the kids, I figured Chloe would like it and Logan is still too young to understand but Chloe would enjoy helping him open up his surprise. I  brainstormed lots of ideas, here's what I decided on: On the left is Chloe's and on the right is Logan's, the top two pictures are their Halloween trick or tre...
